Pepperoni Pepper Pizza
Ingredients –
4 cups of flour
1 ½ tablespoons of yeast
1 ½ cups of water
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 12 ounce can of tomato sauce
1 small bell pepper
1 small onion
8 ounces of pepperoni
1 pound of cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation:
Place the yeast in a small bowl and stir in the warm water. Add the yeast mixture to a bowl with the flour, and add the olive oil.
Mix the ingredients thoroughly until it is a large ball of dough, and knead for 10 minutes. Once the dough has been kneaded, place it in a large bowl to rise for two hours.
As the dough is rising, empty the can of tomato sauce into a saucepan and heat. Bring the sauce to a boil, and keep it boiling on low heat for 20 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste, as well as half a tablespoon of sugar to cut the acidity.
Grate the cheese, dice the pepper and onion, and set them in separate bowls to one side.
Remove the dough once it has risen, and roll in into pizza crusts. Place the crusts in the oven to cook until slightly crunchy and stiff.
Spread the tomato sauce over the crust, sprinkle the cheese, and add the toppings liberally before placing the pizzas in the oven to cook for 20 minutes.
