Simple Gluten Free Pizza Sauce
Do you love pizza, but have to avoid commercial sauce mixes because of hidden gluten containing ingredients? If so, you are like a lot of people who are discovering their bodies do not handle the gluten in wheat and many other grains as well as we assume. Fortunately, even if you do not happen to have a can or bottle of specialty commercial gluten free sauce on hand, this sauce will work well.
It is easy to make, tastes just as good as ordinary pizza sauces, and is a lot cheaper than buying special ingredients. You will love this gluten free pizza sauce on pizzas, bread sticks, pizza bagels and more. Try it with your favorite gluten free crust and get back to enjoying pizza all over again!
Gluten Free Pizza Sauce
Ingredients –
1 six ounce can tomato paste
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
½ cup water
3 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons dried oregano
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Preparation:
Combine tomato paste, oil, and water in a medium sized bowl and stir until well mixed.
Then, add remaining ingredients.
Allow sauce to rest for thirty minutes to allow flavors to fully develop and permeate the sauce, then top pizza as normal.
(Makes approximately 1 cup, tops 1 to 2 pizzas)
