Mexican Beef Tortilla Pizza
Rather than using a traditional pizza base in this Mexican pizza recipe, tortillas are used. Delicious ingredients such as cheese, salsa, tomatoes, chili, onion and hamburger meat are used to top the tortilla bases and these pizzas are cooked until the cheese is melted and the pizzas are heated through.
There are different methods if you want to know how to make a Mexican pizza but this one is particularly simple and takes mere minutes to prepare and cook. As with many other Mexican recipes you can add a few drops of hot sauce if you prefer a bit of a zing to your Mexican cuisine or leave the sauce off if you do not.
2 cups cheese
6 flour tortillas
2 diced fresh tomatoes
4 oz can diced green chili peppers
1 chopped onion
1 can salsa
1 lb hamburger meat
Oil, for frying
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Brown the hamburger meat and drain off the fat.
Heat ½ inch of oil in the skillet, and then fry each tortilla for a minute until crispy and starting to brown.
Drain on paper towels.
Sprinkle the cheese over the tortillas, then the chilies, hamburger meat and onions.
Put them on a cookie sheet and heat in the oven until the cheese melts.
Top with the salsa and tomatoes.
Cut into slices with a pizza cutter.
