Delicious Deep Dish Pizza Dough
Sometimes it is nice to have a satisfying, deep-dish pizza dough recipe and other times a thin and crispy crust suits the toppings better. This recipe for deep-dish pizza dough is simple to make and the results are spectacular. You can use either instant yeast or quick-rise yeast for this deep-dish pizza dough recipe.
You can use any toppings you want on this deep-dish pizza dough. You might like to coat the dough with cheese, then add bacon, sausage, green bell pepper, fresh basil, and crushed tomatoes for example, and then top with mozzarella and parmesan. Deep-dish pizza is very filling and great served piping hot.
Deep Dish Pizza Crust
Ingredients –
3¼ cups all-purpose flour
1½ teaspoons salt
½ cup yellow cornmeal
1¼ cups warm water
½ cup olive oil
2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
2 teaspoons white sugar
Preparation:
Mix the yeast with ¼ cup warm water, ¼ cup flour and all the sugar in a bowl.
Cover and let it stand in a warm place for 15 minutes, then mix in all the other ingredients.
Let the dough stand covered for about 1½ hours, then punch it down and knead until the correct texture is achieved.
You might need to add some more flour if it is too sticky.
Divide it in half to make 2 pizza crusts.
