Boston’s Gourmet Pizza is a popular chain operating out of Canada, but with plenty of restaurants open in the US. However, they are not as ubiquitous as Domino’s or Pizza Hut. That means you might find yourself living in an area without a Boston’s. If you cannot get their one of a kind pizza, you do not have to do without. Here is a Boston pizza dough recipe that will do the trick.

The recipe takes a remarkably short time to cook, and results in a pleasant, crisp crust. It is not so hard that it is hard to chew, but not super soft, either. Top with your favorite meats, vegetables and cheeses, and see how it comes out. You might be surprised.

Boston Pizza Dough Recipe

Ingredients –

1 packet active dry yeast
¼ teaspoon sugar
¾ cup warm water
1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt

Preparation:

Dissolve sugar, yeast in water, and allow to rest for five to eight minutes, or until bubbly.

Combine flour and salt in a separate large bowl.

Pour yeast mixture into flour mixture and combine thoroughly.

Turn dough onto a floured surface.

Knead until smooth and elastic.

Press into a twelve inch circle and place on a well greased pizza pan.

Stretch dough to edges. Top as usual.

Preheat oven to 500 degrees F and bake until edges are golden.

(Makes 1 large pizza crust)
