Pepperoni Pizza Delight
Ingredients –
5 cups of white flour
1 ¾ cups of warm water
1 ¾ tablespoons of yeast
1 ⅓ tablespoons of olive oil
1 pound of grated cheese
½ pound of pepperoni
5 large tomatoes
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 small onion
5 cloves of garlic
Basil
Thyme
Oregano
Preparation:
In order to prepare the pizza, the dough must be made first. In a small bowl, mix the yeast into the warm water. Add the yeast mixture to the bowl with flour, and add the oil before mixing.
Use your hands to mix the ingredients together until they form a large ball of dough, which you will then proceed to knead for 10 minutes. Once the dough has been kneaded, place it in a large bowl and cover it. Let it sit for 2 hours to give the dough time to rise.
As the dough is rising, place the tomatoes, chopped in half, in a saucepan to boil with the garlic and onion. Once the tomatoes are boiling, puree them in a food processor and return them to the stove. Add basil, thyme, salt, pepper, and oregano to taste, and cook the tomato sauce until it is thoroughly done and most of the acidity is gone.
Roll the risen dough into individual crusts, place on a greased sheet of baking paper, and cover with the tomato sauce, cheese, and pepperoni pizza.
Cook the pizza for 40 minutes, or until you feel the crust is sufficiently cooked.
